The Stories We Wear

Eleven Summers

Collected

The story

Eleven notebooks, one per year of a childhood, kept in a tin trunk until the paper turned the colour of weak tea.

Each petal is a single folded page, sealed and sanded until it behaves like wood.

Sketches

Studies, most of them abandoned.

From the notebook

Collectors

It is the first thing anyone touches when they come into the house. Nobody believes what it used to be.

Collector, Bengaluru

I bought it for the story and kept it for the silence.

Collector, Lisbon

This one found its home. The next will not resemble it.
